1. Press-fit into the pivot housing (e.g., excavator linkage bracket) to create a fixed sleeve around the pivot shaft |
| 2. The shaft rotates inside the bushing’s inner diameter, with the lubricated/coated surface reducing friction between metal components |
| 3. The bushing absorbs radial loads (perpendicular to the shaft) and distributes pressure evenly across the housing, preventing localized wear |
| 4. Self-lubricating variants release stored oil/PTFE film during operation to maintain low friction; greased variants require periodic lubrication to replenish the oil film |
